City & Guilds bolsters senior management team for future growth - [03 Sep 2008]
City & Guilds has strengthened its senior management team by appointing Natalie Deter as Director of Strategic Planning and Marketing, a brand new post on the Board.
Reporting directly to City & Guilds’ Director General, Chris Jones, Deter will lead on developing strategy for the Group - comprising City & Guilds, the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), NPTC and the Centre for Skills Development - as it continues to expand through organic growth and acquisition both in the UK and internationally.
According to Deter: ‘City & Guilds particularly appealed to me as the organisation is experiencing a significant amount of change in a fast-moving environment which, in turn, offers fabulous opportunities across the Group. I look forward to developing my role, establishing the right customer propositions at each stage of a learner’s journey’
Commenting on the appointment, Chris Jones said: ‘Natalie has the right skills and credentials to ensure that City & Guilds delivers its business goals and takes the organisation to the next level. She has a strong background in education and strategic marketing, specialising in facilitating business growth and development, which should enable City & Guilds to accelerate its growth by expanding its reach commercially and geographically.’
Prior to joining City & Guilds, Deter has run her own consultancy in the past five years, focusing on the strategic management of change. In this capacity, she was advising a range of clients in the education and media sectors. Before that, Deter worked in strategic planning roles in both Reed Elsevier’s Education business and Corporate and Legal business.
